You Never Know

Our producer, Mia Wood, had a very good meeting with a VC in New York last week and he is very interested in BTS. We hope to raise some money to be able to produce more content ahead of the possibility of going back to Cannes in April. Several entities expressed an interest in BTS but we didn't have enough episodes to be viable at the moment. People universally liked the program so we are trying to get the capital to create more shows. Any help, in any form, would be greatly appreciated!

Heard back from an Internet portal in Chicago who screened us at Cannes and she's looking at buying the pilot...fingers crossed!

All for now...hoping that '11 will be as creative and optimistic as '10 was!

Happy Holidays from all of us at Behind The Seeds!

BTS-A-THON

So...the feedback we've been getting is that BTS is very good and that if we had more episodes folks like the National Geographic Channel and Shine International (NBC) might be interested in buying us...

With that in mind we are busy looking at how we can produce more content. We have some great ideas such as counterfeit wine, a little vineyard in Chinon which is the lifelong dream of the woman who owns it, the originator of bio-dynamic wine growing in Vouvray and a virtual vineyard in Carneros.

Therefore, this is a general appeal (unfortunately there are no coffee mugs or tote bags to give away...)to anyone...either you or someone you know...who might be interested in the possibility of investing in the program.

Let us know!!

Thanks...

We promise that, if we get picked up, we'll retroactively award the abovementioned mugs and totes...

Shhhh!

All quiet on the BTS front for the time being.

In fund-raising mode and researching new content. Have two episodes in mind...one in Chinon, France and the other in Carneros (Napa) California.

Also prepping to possibly re-edit the pilot.

Onward and upward!

And thanks for your support.

BTS loves you all...

Stay tuned!

Who Knew?

It turns out that Shine International, a group that was interested in BTS at Cannes, has a bungalow on the Universal lot in L.A. The email address is a part of the NBCUNI designation...

They requested, and were sent, a copy of the show to be screened...

It would be very cool to be a part of that "family..."

Think Seinfeld...!!

Strategy

The good news is that we are working with a Web Strategist to launch a site dedicated solely to Behind the Seeds with Spencer Christian. It should be up soon with a full strength blog and links to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter as well as clips of episodes, interviews and works in progress.

We also hope to get an interview at AOL.com in their "Black Voices" section for Spencer. We met with a correspondent there and she was very interested.

So that's it for now...preparing for Cannes in April...fingers crossed. Should be great and hopefully profitable for the show!

Moving the Ball

Had a wonderful meeting in New York with a woman who is interested in husbanding BTS through the process at a major web content provider...plus she's a writer with a column and is also interested in conducting an interview with Spencer to be turned into a pre-review and then a review...once we launch.

Getting ready for Cannes and the MIP-TV/Com Festival in April...hoping to secure a deal...fingers crossed.

Also have tentative interviews set up with Georges DuBoeuf (Beaujolais), Gerard Bertrand (Languedoc) and Didier Noel (Cotes du Rhone.) These will be incorporated into future episodes.

Moving right along!

Moving Right Along

We're getting closer to a web presence where you'll be able to finally see "Behind the Seeds." We have some top designers/strategists from New York and Pennsylvania on the task and hope to be up and online very soon.

We are also getting ready for Cannes in April...MIP-TV...the convention of content producers and buyers...where we hope to find a home for "Behind The Seeds."

We have also been working on our next episode...should know more in a few weeks and we'll post the info here.

Also still looking for any good ideas for upcoming episodes so if you have any please leave a comment and maybe some good contact info, either for yourself and/or the subject of a program you'd like us to produce.

More later...stay tuned!

The Web

Well, we're getting our website organized. We had a long conversation with a designer the other day and he is helping to define strategy, look and purpose.

We hope to have the site up and functional soon so we can begin to show clips of the program.

We want to invite feedback as well as begin to develop a following.

We may be able to get a few more episodes in the can because Spencer will be in Europe in April and we hope to have the resources to join him for a couple of interviews, possibly in France, Spain and/or Italy.

We may do a piece on Georges DuBoeuf (Beaujolais), one on Gerard Bertrand (Languedoc) and another on Didier Noel (Cotes du Rhone)...we'll see.

So, "onward and upward." We're looking forward to actually having the show out there for all to enjoy.

Ideas...?

So...we're researching our next few episodes and wanted to put out to anyone...if you have an interesting story or know of one that we could produce on "Behind the Seeds with Spencer Christian"...let us know...maybe we can put you on the crew as an associate producer and you'd get to go too...

Remember...passion in the wine world...what folks do because of there love of wine...from celebrities to everyman (woman)...anybody...with passion!!

Onward and Upward...

Moving the ball here...hoping for an airdate on a station in California...and hoping for some investment toward achieving our marketing goals...

One idea is to attend the MIP-TV Festival in Cannes in April...bringing Mohammed to the Mountain, etc.

But the show looks good, Spencer is great and we're looking at 2010 as the year of "BTS."

Any help from anyone will be appreciated!
